Do I have to pay Horizon Financial Solutions to arrange my loan?

In most cases, no. We are typically paid by the lender once your loan settles, meaning there is usually no direct cost to you for using our services.

How does a mortgage broker get paid?

Brokers are generally paid by the lender in two ways, an upfront commission when your loan settles and an ongoing trail commission calculated on the remaining balance of your loan. These payments allow us to manage your application and provide ongoing support.

Does this commission affect my interest rate?

No. The commission is paid by the lender and does not increase your interest rate. The loan products we recommend are based on suitability and your financial goals.

Are you required to act in my best interests?

Yes. As licensed mortgage brokers in Australia, we are legally bound by Best Interests Duty obligations. This means we must prioritise your needs and recommend a loan that is appropriate and suitable for your situation.

Will I know how much you are paid?

Absolutely. All commissions and remuneration details are clearly disclosed in your Credit Proposal Disclosure document before you proceed with your loan.

Do you ever charge fees?

In most standard residential lending scenarios, we do not charge a client fee. If a situation arises where a fee may apply (for example, complex commercial or specialist lending), this would always be discussed and agreed upon upfront.
